Attorney Alan Colvin was born in Pensacola, Florida, before he moved to Mobile, Alabama, with his family as a young child. He graduated from Murphy High School and the University of South Alabama. He then earned his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law.

Alan returned to Mobile in 2001 after law school. He clerked for the Mobile County Circuit Court Judge, Honorable William H. McDermott. Following his clerkship, Alan practiced with a local law firm representing insurance companies.

However, it didn’t take him long to realize that he wanted to represent people, not insurance companies. For the last eighteen years, Alan has been representing people in Mobile in criminal matters, probate matters, and personal injury matters.

Alan has represented hundreds of injured people over the course of his career and has collected millions of dollars on their behalf. He has also successfully conducted bench and jury trials in both State and Federal Courts in Alabama.

Alan’s practice is currently focused solely on personal injury with an emphasis on automobile, motorcycle, 18-wheeler wrecks, premises liability, product defects, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death.

Alan resides in Mobile with his wife, Kimberly, and their two children. When he is not representing injury clients or spending time with family, Alan volunteers with the Mobile Bar Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Alabama.
